Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the main square in Ibarra (Plaza de los Heroes), head northwest on Calle Sucre for about 400 meters until you reach the intersection with Calle Juan Montalvo. Turn left onto Calle Juan Montalvo and continue for 600 meters until you reach the bus terminal (Terminal Terrestre de Ibarra). From there, look for a bus heading towards Otavalo. The buses usually have a destination sign on the front. Get on the bus and ride for about 30 minutes. You will need to get off at the stop near the Cochasquí Archaeological Park. Once you get off, walk about 1 kilometer northeast along the road until you see the entrance to the park on your right.

From the main square (Plaza de los Heroes), walk to the Terminal Terrestre de Ibarra. Once you arrive at the terminal, look for buses heading to Otavalo. These buses are frequent, so you shouldn’t have to wait long. After about a 30-minute ride, ask the driver to let you know when to get off for Cochasquí Archaeological Park. After disembarking, walk for approximately 1 kilometer to the entrance of the park, which will be on your right.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Ibarra. Just tell the driver you want to go to Cochasquí Archaeological Park. Make sure to negotiate the fare before getting in, or ask the driver to use the meter if available.
