Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Manta, head south on the E15 highway towards Jipijapa. Continue on E15 for approximately 50 km. You will pass through Jipijapa; follow the signs for the E28 road towards the town of El Carmen. After about 10 km, you will see a sign for The Chain. Turn left onto the unpaved road, and continue for about 5 km until you reach the destination. Make sure to have cash for any tolls that may apply along the route.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach The Chain via public transport, take a bus from Manta to Jipijapa. Buses leave regularly from the Manta bus terminal and the fare is usually around $2.50. Once you arrive in Jipijapa, transfer to a bus heading toward El Carmen. The fare for this leg is approximately $1. After reaching El Carmen, you can either take a taxi (which may cost around $5) directly to The Chain or inquire for local transport options that may drop you closer to the destination. Be sure to check the schedule for return buses.
