Walking
From the center of Mindo, head towards the main road (Via a Mindo). Walk along the main path until you reach the bus stop near the church. From there, you can catch a bus heading to Quito. Inform the driver that you want to visit El Pahuma Orchid Reserve, and they will drop you off at the nearest point. After getting off, walk about 1.5 kilometers along the dirt road until you see the entrance to the reserve on your left.
Bus
Take a local bus from Mindo to Quito. Buses leave regularly from Mindo's main bus terminal. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the closest stop to El Pahuma Orchid Reserve. Once you arrive, you may need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers along the path until you reach the entrance.
Shared Taxi
You can also take a shared taxi (sometimes called a 'colectivo') from Mindo to Quito. Head to the main square where taxis typically gather. Share the ride with other passengers heading in the same direction. Let the driver know your destination, El Pahuma Orchid Reserve, and they will drop you off at the nearest location. From there, you'll need to walk about 1.5 kilometers along the dirt road to reach the reserve.
