Getting There

Walking
From the center of Mindo, head towards the main road (Via Mindo - San Miguel). You can ask locals for directions to the main road if you're unsure. Once on the main road, walk northwest for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Camino Milpe-Pachijal. You'll see signs for Milpe Bird Sanctuary along the way. Turn left onto Camino Milpe-Pachijal and continue walking for another 2 kilometers until you reach the sanctuary entrance.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start from the central plaza in Mindo. Ride towards the main road (Via Mindo - San Miguel) and head northwest for approximately 1.5 kilometers. After reaching the intersection with Camino Milpe-Pachijal, turn left and cycle for about 2 kilometers. The Milpe Bird Sanctuary will be on your right. This route is scenic and offers beautiful views of the cloud forest.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the center of Mindo, locate the bus stop near the main road (Via Mindo - San Miguel). Take a bus towards San Miguel de Los Bancos; the ride will take about 20 minutes. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at Camino Milpe-Pachijal. Once you disembark, walk along Camino Milpe-Pachijal for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the entrance of the Milpe Bird Sanctuary.
