From the central square of Mindo, head southwest on Calle 9 de Octubre towards Calle 10 de Agosto. Continue straight for about 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Calle Napo. Turn left onto Calle Napo and walk for another 200 meters. You will see a sign for Museo Templo del Sol Pintor Cristobal Ortega Maila on your right. The museum is located at Manuel Córdova Galarza E28 y, Calle Eduardo Kingman Oe12-174.

From Mindo, catch a bus to Quito at the local bus station. The journey takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive at the main bus terminal in Quito, exit the terminal and look for the Ecovía bus stop. Board the Ecovía bus heading towards 'El Recreo'. Ride it for about 15 stops (around 30 minutes), then get off at the stop 'Calle 18 de Septiembre'. From there, walk east on Calle 18 de Septiembre for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Manuel Córdova Galarza. Turn right, and the museum will be on your left.
