Walking
From the center of Mindo, start at the main square (Plaza de Mindo), located near the church. Head towards the 'Calle 9 de Octubre' street. Walk straight until you reach the bridge over the river. Cross the bridge and continue straight for about 1 kilometer. You will notice signs pointing towards 'Nanegalito'. Keep following the path as it starts to incline slightly. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left path, which leads directly to the entrance of Refugio Paz de Las Aves. The distance from the center of Mindo to Refugio Paz de Las Aves is about 3 kilometers, so be prepared for a bit of a hike!

Public Transport (Bus)
From the main square in Mindo, walk to the bus stop located near the church. Take a bus heading towards Nanegalito. Buses run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. Inform the bus driver that you are going to Refugio Paz de Las Aves, as they will be familiar with the location. The bus ride will take around 20 minutes. Once you arrive at the Nanegalito stop, get off and walk back a short distance to the entrance of Refugio Paz de Las Aves, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in the center of Mindo. Head towards the main road and follow the signs towards Nanegalito. The cycling route is scenic but includes some hills, so be prepared for a physical workout. The total distance from Mindo to Refugio Paz de Las Aves is about 3 kilometers. Upon reaching Nanegalito, look for the signs indicating the entrance to the refuge. It should take around 15-20 minutes to cycle there, depending on your pace.
