Bus
From the center of Otavalo, make your way to the main bus terminal, which is located at Av. 31 de Octubre and Calle José A. Echeverría. Look for buses heading to Ibarra; these are frequently available. The fare is typically inexpensive, around $0.50 to $1.00. Once you board the bus, enjoy the scenic ride that lasts about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. When you arrive in Ibarra, disembark at the main bus terminal.
Local Transportation
After arriving at the Ibarra bus terminal, exit and look for local taxis or collectivos (shared vans). Inform the driver that you wish to go to Salinas De Ibarra. The cost should be around $2 to $3 for a taxi ride. If you prefer a collectivo, be aware that you may need to wait for it to fill up before it departs, but this is often a cheaper option.
Walking
