Bus
From the city center of Quito, head to the "Quitumbe" bus terminal. You can take any local bus to Quitumbe, which are frequent and affordable. Once you arrive at Quitumbe, look for the bus heading to Tumbaco. These buses are marked, and you can ask the driver or other passengers for help if needed. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Upon reaching Tumbaco, get off at the stop closest to the "Via al Ilalo". From there, you can either walk (about 15 minutes) or take a taxi to reach El Viejo Ilaló.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Quito. Just tell the driver "El Viejo Ilaló, en Via al Ilalo". The journey will take around 30 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the price beforehand or ask the driver to use the meter.
Bicycle
For those feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental places in Quito. Start your ride from the city center and head towards the Tumbaco area via the "Calle de los Pichinchas", following the signs towards Tumbaco. The ride is approximately 10 km and should take about an hour. Make sure to use a map app for navigation and be cautious of traffic.
