Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the Plaza de la Independencia (Independence Square), head east towards the Calle García Moreno. As you walk, keep an eye out for the impressive Cathedral and the Government Palace on your left. Continue walking down Calle García Moreno for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with Calle Venezuela. Plaza García Moreno will be just ahead on your left, identifiable by its park-like setting and the surrounding historical buildings.

    From the Basilica del Voto Nacional, exit the basilica and walk down Calle del Espejo towards Parque La Alameda. Once you reach the park, turn left onto Avenida 24 de Mayo. Continue straight for about 10 minutes. You will cross several streets, and eventually, you will see Plaza García Moreno on your right, marked by its trees and open space.

    From the Mariscal Sucre area, take a 'trolebus' (a trolleybus) from the 'Mariscal' station towards 'La Rumiñahui.' Get off at the 'Catedral' stop. Once you exit, walk south towards the Plaza de la Independencia, then continue east along Calle García Moreno for about 5 minutes until you reach Plaza García Moreno on your left.
