Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. Head northwest on Av. Quito towards Av. Manabí. Continue straight onto Via a Los Bancos. Follow the signs for Los Bancos and stay on this road for about 30 kilometers. As you approach the town of Los Bancos, keep an eye out for the signs directing you to 'San Miguel Bird Sanctuary'. The sanctuary is located on Via Calacali La Independencia. You can park in the designated area near the entrance.

Public Transportation
To reach San Miguel Bird Sanctuary using public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Santo Domingo. Look for buses heading to Los Bancos; these buses typically run regularly throughout the day. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive in Los Bancos, ask the driver or locals about a taxi or moto-taxi to take you to San Miguel Bird Sanctuary, which is about 15 minutes away from the bus terminal. The taxi fare should be around $3 to $5. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.
