If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Cariamanga. Head southwest on Av. 24 de Mayo towards Calle Sucre. After approximately 2 km, turn left onto MFR2+6FG. Continue on this road for about 1.5 km until you reach Cerro Ahuaca. Parking is available at the base of the hill, and there are no fees for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Cerro Ahuaca using public transportation, take a local bus from the Cariamanga bus terminal. Look for buses heading towards 'Cerro Ahuaca' or 'Mirador de Cariamanga'. The fare is generally around $0.50 to $1.00. Once you get off the bus, you will need to walk about 1-2 km to reach the base of Cerro Ahuaca. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions.
Taxi
You can also hire a taxi from anywhere in Cariamanga to take you directly to Cerro Ahuaca. Agree on a fare before starting your journey; typical costs range from $5 to $10, depending on the distance and negotiation. The taxi will drop you off at the base, and you can then hike up to the viewpoint.
Hiking
If you are feeling adventurous and are already in the vicinity, you can hike from Cariamanga to Cerro Ahuaca. The hike is approximately 3 km and takes about 1 hour. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Follow the main road out of Cariamanga, and then look for hiking trails leading up to the summit.
