Bus
From central Loja, head to the main bus terminal located at Avenida 24 de Mayo. You can walk there from the Parque Central Loja, which is about a 15-minute walk. Once at the terminal, look for buses heading to Vilcabamba. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Ensure you confirm with the bus driver that they are going to Vilcabamba before boarding.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Loja. Simply flag down a taxi or ask at your hotel to call one for you. Specify that you want to go to Vilcabamba. The ride will take about 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic and will cost more than the bus, but it offers convenience and comfort.
Motorcycle Taxi (Moto-taxi)
For a quick and adventurous option, consider taking a motorcycle taxi. You can find them near Parque Central Loja or request one from your hotel. Tell the driver you want to go to Vilcabamba. This option is faster than a traditional taxi, but please ensure you wear a helmet and follow safety instructions. The ride will take around 30 minutes.
