Car
If you are driving from the town of Vilcabamba, head southeast on the main road (E35) for about 2 kilometers. Look for signs indicating 'Sendero Cascada El PALTO'. Once you reach the entrance at Km 2, park your car in the designated area. There may be a small parking fee (approximately $1-$2). From there, follow the well-marked trails to the waterfall.
Public Transportation
Catch a local bus or taxi from Vilcabamba to the entrance of Sendero Cascada El PALTO. Buses leave regularly from the main square in Vilcabamba. The fare is usually around $0.50 to $1.00. Inform the driver you want to get off at Km 2 for Cascada El PALTO. After getting off, follow the signs to the trailhead; the entrance leads directly to the waterfall.
Walking
If you are already in Vilcabamba and prefer walking, it's about a 30-40 minute hike from the town center to the entrance of Sendero Cascada El PALTO. Head southeast along the main road (E35) until you reach Km 2. The path is scenic, and you'll enjoy views of the surrounding hills. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.
