Car

Continue on this road for about 30 km until you reach the intersection with the E28 highway. Turn left onto E28 and drive for approximately 15 km. You will see signs directing you to Refugio Paz de Las Aves. The final stretch is a gravel road; drive carefully for about 5 km until you reach the entrance of the refuge. Parking is available on-site.

To reach Refugio Paz de Las Aves using public transportation, first take a bus from Tulcán to El Chical. Buses depart regularly from the main terminal in Tulcán, and the fare is approximately $1.50. Once in El Chical, you can either hire a taxi to take you directly to Refugio Paz de Las Aves (around $10 for the ride) or catch a local bus heading towards Nanegalito.
