Public Transport

From central Alexandria, take a bus or tram towards Al Mandarah Bahri. Alight at Al Mandarah Bahri and walk east towards the coast. Follow the road south; signs will point you to Tea Island. From Montaza, microbuses are also available towards Al Mandarah Bahri. A 15-minute tram ride costs approximately 2 EGP.

Walking

If you are near Montaza Palace or Al Mandarah Bahri, you can walk to Tea Island. Head towards the shoreline and follow the beach promenade. The entrance to Tea Island is along the waterfront. From Montaza Palace, it's approximately a 15-minute walk along the coast.

Located within the royal Montaza Gardens, this picturesque island provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.The island's history dates back to 1936 when it was established as a tea kiosk during the reign of King Farouk I. Designed by Egyptian architect Mustafa Pasha Fahmy in the Roman style, the kiosk features red brick and cement construction with a southern facade adorned with a large pediment and four marble statues.Today, Tea Island invites visitors to wander its scenic pathways, relax amidst lush gardens, and enjoy panoramic views of the Mediterranean. Cafes dot the island, offering refreshments with a sea view. The island also features a rocky area with connected lakes used for fish farming and a bridge leading to the beach.
