The mausoleum's architecture draws inspiration from the Fatimid tombs of Cairo, reflecting the historical significance of the Fatimid Caliphate in Egypt. Built with pink limestone and featuring a white Carrara marble tomb inside, the structure exemplifies a blend of strength and elegance. The mausoleum features crenellated parapet walls, a large central dome, and smaller domes on each corner. Designed by Egyptian architect Farid Shafi'e, the mausoleum bears resemblance to the Masjid al-Juyushi, a Fatimid mosque.
