Karnak Sound and Light Show Cheesy but Fun

I did the sound and light show at the Karnak Temple. The experience was cheesy but the lasers on the columns looked cool. Admission fee was 20 dollars. Length of visit was one hour sitting on stone steps. Atmosphere was dramatic with a deep voice narrating. Crowd size was big with many tour groups. Staff selling drinks walked around but they were annoying. Best for families with kids who like flashy things. The show told the story of Thebes and I almost fell asleep. But then the last light showed the whole temple and I gasped. A kid next to me asked his dad if the pharaohs built the lights. That made me laugh so hard I woke up.

I traveled with my father he is seventy three and uses a cane so accessibility was my biggest concern I emailed the company before booking and they confirmed everything was step free where possible On the ground our guide Khaled was a hero He found a wheelchair at the GEM without us even asking and pushed my dad through the galleries himself Refused to let us push he said it was his pleasure Entry for my dad was discounted which the guide processed automatically without us reminding him We spent about three hours at the museum and my dad who usually tires easily was energized the whole time The cruise ship had an elevator and our cabin was close to the dining room which mattered The staff always pulled out chairs and made sure my dad had a straight path The atmosphere was dignified and unhurried Crowds parted when they saw the wheelchair staff were really proactive The highlight was sitting on the deck my dad with his cane and me beside him just watching Egypt pass by Best for multi generational travel when you need support not just sightseeing

I went with my wife and we had the time of our lives. The tour was romantic and exciting. The GEM is stunning and we spent hours there. The pyramids at sunset with a private car was unforgettable. The Nile cruise had a beautiful view and we enjoyed every moment. The guide was amazing and took us to special spots. The staff on the cruise were wonderful and made us feel special. The included flight was easy. For a couple this tour is a dream come true.
