Getting There

  • Walking

Start your journey in Zamalek by heading towards the main road, 26th of July Street. Walk north and take a left onto El-Gezira Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the end of the street, where you will find the Cairo Opera House on your left. From there, cross the bridge over to the main land, and you will come across the Qasr El Nil Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, you will be at the entrance of Tahrir Square.

  • Metro

From Zamalek, walk to the nearest Metro station, which is at Sadat Station. Take the Metro Line 1 (the red line) towards Helwan. Get off at Sadat Station and take the exit towards El-Tahrir Square. The Egyptian Museum is just a short walk from there, directly southwest from the station.

  • Bus

You can take a local bus from Zamalek to Tahrir Square. Look for buses that have ‘Tahrir’ written on them. The bus will take you directly to the square, and from there, the Egyptian Museum is just a few minutes’ walk away. Make sure to have small change (around EGP 5) to pay for the bus fare.

  • Ride-Hailing Apps
