Cairo Tower, known in Arabic as Borg El-Qāhira, is a free-standing concrete tower located on Gezira Island in the heart of Cairo. Standing at 187 meters (614 feet), it was the tallest structure in Egypt for 37 years. Built between 1956 and 1961, the tower was designed by Egyptian architect Naoum Shebib, who drew inspiration from ancient Egyptian architecture.
