If you are driving from Cairo, take the Desert Road (Cairo - Aswan Road) towards the town of Bahariya Oasis. From Bahariya, head west towards Farafra. The journey is approximately 6-7 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Farafra, continue to the White Desert by following the signs that lead you to the Al Farafra Desert. The distance from Farafra to the White Desert is about 45 km, and the road is well-marked. You may need a 4x4 vehicle to navigate the desert terrain. Make sure to fill up your fuel tank before leaving Farafra as gas stations are scarce in the desert.

To reach the White Desert using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Cairo to Bahariya Oasis. Buses leave regularly from Cairo's Turgoman bus station. The bus ride takes around 6-7 hours. Once in Bahariya, you can find shared taxis or mini-buses heading to Farafra. The shared taxi ride takes about 2 hours.
