Full Day Tour Tanis and Bubastis
Hidden Gem Ancient sites
George is amazing! This tour was incredible. George has a wealth of knowledge that shines at every stop and as you're traveling through each area. It was an early start to the day and worth it! We stopped at a little coffee/tea cart to pick up a beverage. I opted for the Turkish coffee and George and my driver grabbed tea. Their tea smelled so good. Should have tried it. We started with Tell Basta. I need to visit this site again in 5 to 10 years to see what else has been uncovered/excavated. The open air museum has some impressive artifacts. The Tell Basta museum is small but is home to some interesting artifacts. I had done some research on Tell Basta prior to booking the tour. One website stated this is where you can see mummified cats. This is not true. The next stop was Tanis. This is another treasure. It's an ancient site and George did an incredible job sharing the history and importance. The pillars, obelisk, statues and remains are well preserved and stunning. This is another open air museum with larger artifacts. Tell Basta was impressive but Tanis was far superior. After visiting both locations, we had a late lunch at a family run BBQ restaurant with delicious food. Lunch was late so I was very hungry. There was more than enough food for George, the drive (Mohammad if I remember correctly) and myself. At the end of the tour I was given the opportunity to visit a Papyrus shop and perfume shop. I would skip these in the future but they were both interesting and the staff at both were lovely. This is a very long day. Especially if you opt for the Papyrus shop and perfume shop. George is incredible at making sure you are comfortable, well hydrated and enjoying the trip. One thing to note is that these sites do not get a lot of tourists. We were the only ones walking through, so my photos are all people free! I'd recommend this tour to those who are very interested in Egyptian history.

Private Tour: Full-Day Trip to Tell-Basta and San El-Hagar from Cairo
A full day in Tanais
A fantastic trip out to san el-hagar and tell basta It was a shame that the indoor museum was not really open at Tell Basta but it was thanks to the guide we got in at all for the very short time we managed. Apart from that it was an exciting day with a good guide and driver. As a solo female i could.not have felt safer. I was looked after by everyone involved

Private Day Tour to Tanis Bubastis Cairo
An excellent interesting day.
The Delta area is a bit off the beaten track for most tourists but definitely worth the effort. We travelled through a range of towns which were less chaotic than Cairo and more real than Luxor. The archeological sites at Tanis and Bubastis are very interesting if you are more than a casual observer of ancient Egypt. The museum staff at both sites were so pleased to see us and did everything they could to enhance our stay. As you are off the beaten track a police escort is assigned to you. Don't let that make you feel it is particularly dangerous, there are just a lot of Tourist Police and not many tourists. The biggest risk is teenage selfie hunters who are fascinated by tall blonde white people!!! Full marks to our guide, Sam, and driver Abdul. It's a long day together, about 10 hours, and we had a lot of fun.
