Car
To reach Pico Basilé by car, start from Malabo, the capital city of Bioko Island. Head south on the main road (the Avenida de la Independencia) towards the area of Luba. Continue driving for approximately 30 km until you reach the intersection near the town of Luba. At the intersection, take a right turn onto the road leading to the town of Moka. Follow the road for about 15 km, where you will see signs indicating the way to Pico Basilé. The last few kilometers will be on a dirt road, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for this terrain. There is no parking lot at the peak, so you will need to park your car at a designated area before hiking to the summit.

Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, start your journey in Malabo. Head to the main bus station where you can find 'bush taxis' that operate on routes to Luba and Moka. Inform the driver that you are going to Moka, and the fare should be around 1,500 CFA francs. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival in Moka, you may need to hire a local guide or arrange transportation to get you closer to the base of Pico Basilé, as public transport does not go directly to the mountain. Many locals are familiar with the area and can assist with directions and transportation for an additional fee.

Hiking
Once you arrive at the base or parking area near Pico Basilé, you will need to hike to reach the summit. The trail is steep and can be challenging, so wear appropriate hiking footwear and bring water and snacks. Depending on your fitness level, the hike can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. It is advisable to start early in the morning to avoid the afternoon fog and enjoy the best views. Be cautious of the weather, as it can get cold and windy at the top.
