Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the capital city Asmara. Take the main road south towards Nefasit. The drive takes approximately 30 minutes (around 20 km). As you approach Nefasit, look for signs indicating the direction to Debre Bizen Monastery. The monastery is located just off the main road. You can park your car in designated areas near the entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Debre Bizen using public transportation, first head to the main bus station in Asmara. Look for buses heading towards Nefasit. The fare is typically around 10 Nakfa. Once you arrive in Nefasit, you can either walk (approximately 1 km) to the monastery or hire a local taxi for a small charge (around 30 Nakfa) to take you directly to the entrance of Debre Bizen.
Walking
If you are already in Nefasit and prefer walking, you can head south from the town center. Follow the main road for about 1 kilometer until you see the signs for Debre Bizen. The walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as the road can be uneven in parts.
