Getting There

  • Car

    From Soomaa National Park, head southeast on the E27 highway towards Tartu. Continue on E27 for approximately 30 kilometers. Take the exit towards Põltsamaa/Karula and merge onto the 43 road. Follow 43 for about 10 kilometers, then turn right onto the 60 road. Continue on the 60 road for about 15 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Karula National Park. Be aware that parking fees may apply at some entrances to the park.

    From Soomaa National Park, you will need to reach Pärnu first. Take a bus from Soomaa to Pärnu (approximately 30 minutes). In Pärnu, catch a bus to Tartu. The bus journey to Tartu can take about 2 hours. Upon arriving in Tartu, transfer to a bus heading to Karula National Park. Make sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time as they may vary, and ticket prices can range from €5 to €10 for the complete journey depending on the route and time of travel.
