Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the center of Tartu, head towards the Town Hall Square (Raekoja Plats). From the square, walk east along Ülikooli Street (Ülikooli tn). Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Vabaduse Street (Vabaduse tn). Turn left onto Vabaduse Street and walk for approximately 300 meters. You will see Toomemägi hill on your right. Follow the signs leading to the park entrance.

    From the Tartu University main building, head south towards the main entrance and exit onto the street. Turn right onto Ülikooli Street and walk straight for about 200 meters. When you reach the intersection with Vabaduse Street, turn left. Continue walking for another 300 meters, and you will arrive at the foot of Toomemägi, where you can find several paths leading up the hill.

    If you are near the Tartu Art Museum, exit the museum and head north towards the Emajõgi River. Cross the river using the nearest bridge. Once you are on the opposite bank, turn left and walk along the riverbank. After about 800 meters, you will come to Toomemägi hill on your left. Follow the paths leading up to the top.
