Car
If you're driving from Tartu, take the E263 highway towards Valga. After about 45 km, take the exit towards Otepää (E263). Continue on the road until you reach Otepää. In Otepää, follow the signs to Pühajärve matkarada, which is located near the Pühajärve lake. The parking area is available nearby. Make sure to have a map or GPS enabled as there are several turns once you get closer to the lake.
Public Transportation
Take a bus from Tartu to Otepää. The bus departs from the Tartu bus station and the journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Otepää, you can either walk (around 3 km) or take a local taxi to Pühajärve matkarada. Walking directions: From the bus station, head west on Järve Street, then turn right onto Pühajärve Road, which will take you directly to the hiking area. The taxi fare should be around 5-10 euros.
