Public Transport
Start at the Valga bus station, which is located in the city center. From there, take a bus heading towards Sangaste or Lossiküla. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to ask the driver or confirm the route beforehand, as not all buses may stop at Sangaste Castle. Once you arrive at the nearest stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach the castle. Follow the road signs directing you towards Sangaste. The castle will be visible from a distance, and you can follow the path leading directly to its entrance.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Valga, head south on Kuperjanovi Street, then turn right onto J. Kuperjanovi Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rõngu Street. Turn left onto Rõngu Street and follow it out of the city. The total walking distance is about 7 kilometers and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Sangaste Castle as you approach the area.
