Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, head towards Viljandi city center. Follow the signs for 'Viljandi' and take the main road (Tartu mnt) into the city. Once in Viljandi, look for signs directing you to 'Viljandi Castle Hill'. You can park at the nearest public parking area, which is located at 'Lossi tn'. From there, it's a short walk to the castle hill, which is situated just a few minutes on foot.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those taking public transport, check the local bus schedule to find a route to Viljandi. Buses from nearby towns and cities frequently arrive at the Viljandi bus station. Once you arrive at the Viljandi bus station, exit and head towards the city center. You can either walk (approximately 15 minutes) or catch a local taxi to reach Viljandi Castle Hill. The taxi fare should be around €5-€10 depending on the distance.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of Viljandi city center, you can easily walk to Viljandi Castle Hill. From the main square (Raekoja plats), head south on Lossi tn. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer, following the signs for the castle. The hill is prominently located, and you should be able to see it as you approach, with walking time from the square being approximately 10-15 minutes.
