From Piggs Peak, head southeast on the R38 road towards the town of Forbes Reef. Continue on the R38 for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach a junction. Turn right onto the R34, which is well-marked. Drive for another 5 kilometers and watch for signs directing you to Hawane Nature Reserve. The reserve is located at the coordinates R34W+QJG, which should be visible on your GPS. There is no entry fee for visiting the nature reserve, but ensure your vehicle is in good condition for the road.

To reach Hawane Nature Reserve using public transportation, catch a local taxi (known as 'kombis') from the main taxi rank in Piggs Peak. Ask the driver to take you to Forbes Reef.
