From the center of Addis Ababa, head to the Meskel Square bus station. Take a bus heading towards the East side of the city, specifically to Debre Zeit. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at the Awash River bridge. Upon reaching the bridge, you will need to walk about 100 meters to the south. Look for signs that say 'Melka Kunture' or ask locals for directions.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local shops in the city center. Start your journey towards the east, following the main road leading out of the city. After about 1.5 hours of cycling, you will reach the Awash River bridge. Turn left (west) 100 meters after crossing the bridge and continue cycling for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the Melka Kunture Prehistoric Archeological Site.

If you're near the Awash River bridge, simply walk south for about 100 meters from the bridge. After that, turn west and walk for about 1 kilometer. You can ask locals for assistance if you feel lost. They are generally friendly and willing to help tourists.
