Walking
Start from the center of Awasa, specifically near the main market area. Head southeast on the main road (Bole Road) towards the hospital. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach a junction. Take a left turn at the junction and continue walking straight for another 2 kilometers until you reach a sign indicating the direction to Habas Lake. Follow the sign, which will take you onto a smaller path leading into the natural area surrounding the lake.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Awasa. Begin your journey from the lakeside promenade, cycling along the shoreline heading east. Continue cycling for about 3 kilometers until you reach the intersection near the hospital. At the intersection, take a right turn and follow the road for approximately 2 kilometers until you see signs indicating the way to Habas Lake. The final stretch will involve a short ride on a dirt path leading directly to the lake.
Public Transport (Minibus)
From the center of Awasa, locate the minibus station near the main market. Look for a minibus heading towards Algerima. Board the minibus and enjoy the ride, which should take about 30 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop for Habas Lake (they are familiar with this request). After getting off, follow the dirt path leading towards the lake, which is about a 15-minute walk from the drop-off point.
