A Memorable 2-Day Harar Experience with Danakil Depression Tours

We had a wonderful 2-day trip to Harar with Danakil Depression Tours, and the whole experience was much better than we expected. From the beginning, Mickey was very responsive and organized everything smoothly for us. He made sure we had a good itinerary and stayed in contact with us throughout the trip. Our guide, Chacha, was amazing. He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and really made the experience enjoyable. He didn't just take us from one place to another—he explained the history, culture, and traditions of Harar and made us feel connected to the places we were visiting. During the two days, we explored Dire Dawa and Harar, including the historic Harar city walls and the old town. One of the highlights for us was the famous hyena feeding, which was an unforgettable experience and something completely different from anything we had seen before. We also visited the camel market at Nabile, which was fascinating to see and gave us a great opportunity to experience local life and trade. One important thing to know is that the camel market takes place on Mondays and Thursdays, so it is worth planning your trip around those days if you want to see it. Everything was well arranged, and we never felt rushed. The combination of history, culture, markets, wildlife, and meeting local people made these two days very special. Amazing Tour - Amazing Staff

First, the tour: Everything was awesome, it's an amazing place, one of the coolest places I've ever visited. Most importantly: The guy behind the tour, Kiros. When things go well, you might not notice the difference between a good and a bad operator. It's when things go wrong that you notice. We had a canceled flight for a different tour and, although it wasn't his job to do so, Kiros was the one who warned us about this. He was so amicable that it almost felt like we were friends rather than client and tour operator. Super bonus: My friend lost his passaport and had to come home, and if it wasn't for Kiros's assistance, he'd have had lost a bunch of money in flights that he wouldn't take. In sum: Amazing service!

Two Days Tigray Church Adventure

I had two amazing days exploring Tigray, the experience exceeded my expectations! The communication with the travel agency was absolutely on point, smooth from start to finish, and I can recommend them to anyone. I got to see everything I wanted: the stunning Gheralta Mountains, the incredible rock-hewn churches, traditional local cafés, and even a vibrant market where I picked up some berbere, honey, and unroasted coffee. The hotel was okay with a decent breakfast, well nothing fancy, but for the price, it was reasonable.
