Getting There

Walking

If you are starting from Lalibela's main market (known as the 'Shoe Market'), head east on the main road for about 500 meters until you reach a junction. At the junction, turn left onto the road that leads towards the Bete Georgis area. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer, passing several local shops and eateries on your left. As you approach the Bete Georgis neighborhood, look for the signs directing you to FikirandRay Lodge. The lodge is located at 22VP+4XG Bete Georgis, which is just a short 100-meter walk from the main road. You will see the lodge on your right side, identifiable by its distinctive entrance.

If you are near the Lalibela Church complex, exit the complex and head south down the hill towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, turn left and walk about 700 meters until you reach the Shoe Market. At this point, follow the previous directions from the Shoe Market to FikirandRay Lodge.

From the Lalibela Airport, it is advisable to take a local guide or ask for directions as the distance is approximately 20-30 minutes by foot. Start by heading out of the airport and taking the road leading into Lalibela town. Walk straight until you hit the main road; from there, follow the walking directions provided from the Shoe Market.
