Walking
Start your journey from Lalibela's main square, known as 'Meskal Square'. Head north on the main road, passing by various shops and local stalls. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left path which leads towards the hills. Continue walking for another 20 minutes; you will see the entrance to the Neakutoleab Church on your right. Look for a sign or ask locals for directions if needed.
Walking
If you are near the Lalibela Hotel, exit the hotel and take the road that goes uphill from the hotel entrance. Follow this path for about 15 minutes, and you will reach a viewpoint overlooking the valley. From there, continue on the same path for another 10 minutes. Neakutoleab should be visible ahead. Keep an eye out for the distinctive rock-hewn structures that mark the area.
Walking
If you are coming from the Bet Giyorgis Church, exit the church grounds and head southeast. Follow the dirt path that winds through the local farms. This route will take you through scenic landscapes. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at Neakutoleab Church. It is advisable to ask locals for the exact path as you approach.
