From Mago National Park, head north towards Jinka on the main road. The journey will take approximately 4-5 hours depending on road conditions. Once you reach Jinka, take the road leading northwest towards the town of Arbaminch. After about 2 hours, you should reach Arbaminch. From Arbaminch, continue traveling north on the main highway towards Gonder. This leg of the journey will take around 5-6 hours. As you approach Gonder, look for signs directing you to Debark. Debark is the primary gateway to Simien Mountains National Park. There is a small entrance fee for the park, which varies based on the duration of your stay and the activities you plan to undertake.

To use public transportation from Mago National Park to Simien Mountains National Park, start by taking a bus from Jinka to Arbaminch. Buses usually leave in the morning and cost around 30-50 Ethiopian Birr. Once in Arbaminch, transfer to a bus going to Gonder, which will cost approximately 100-150 Birr and take around 5-6 hours. Upon arrival in Gonder, you will need to find a minibus or a shared taxi to Debark, which costs about 30-50 Birr. Once in Debark, you can hire a local guide or a vehicle to take you into Simien Mountains National Park. Be prepared for additional entrance fees at the park.
