Most will direct you to catch a minibus heading towards Abala. The journey to Abala will take about 30 minutes. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to the hiking area for the waterfall. From Mekele, make your way to the main bus station located near the center of the city. Look for minibuses that are heading to Abala. Before boarding, confirm with the driver that they will stop at the vicinity of Abala waterfall. The ride takes around 30 to 40 minutes.
