Getting there

Car

If you are starting from Jijiga, take the A3 road heading east. Continue on the A3 for approximately 200 km until you reach the town of Gode. From Gode, take the road heading southwest towards Balanbale. This road is about 75 km long. Be cautious as road conditions may vary. Once you arrive in Balanbale, you can navigate to the specific location at QQF3+9GJ.

Public Transportation (Bus)

From Jijiga, board a bus heading to Gode. Buses frequently leave from the main bus station. The journey will take around 4-5 hours, and the fare is usually about 150 Ethiopian Birr. Once you reach Gode, you will need to find a local minibus or taxi that goes to Balanbale. This additional leg of the journey is approximately 75 km, costing around 50 Ethiopian Birr and taking about 1-2 hours depending on the vehicle and road conditions.

Motorcycle Taxi

In Gode, you can also hire a motorcycle taxi (bajaj) to take you directly to Balanbale. This is a faster option, but be prepared for a bumpy ride. The journey will cost around 100 Ethiopian Birr and will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Be sure to negotiate the price beforehand.

Combination (Car + Local Transport)

If you have your own vehicle, drive to Gode, and then switch to a local transport method (like a minibus or motorcycle taxi) to get to Balanbale. This way, you can control your schedule and make stops along the way. Ensure you have enough fuel and check the vehicle's condition before starting your journey.
