From Tórshavn, follow signs for Eysturoy. The well-marked Route 10 will lead you to the tunnel entrance near Hvítanes. Be prepared for the toll. The toll for a standard car is 175 DKK each way, but it is cheaper if you register for a subscription. Payment can be made online up to 6 days after your journey. The drive from Tórshavn to the tunnel entrance is approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic.

From Tórshavn, take Bus 400 or 450 towards Klaksvík or Runavík/Strendur. These routes utilize the Eysturoy Tunnel. Check the Strandfaraskip Landsins (SSL) website for the most up-to-date schedules and fare information. A single bus fare from Tórshavn to Runavík is approximately 30 DKK. From the bus stops in Runavík, Strendur, or Toftir, local buses or taxis can take you to other destinations on Eysturoy.
