Getting There

  • Ferry

    Begin your journey in Klaksvík on Borðoy Island. From the Klaksvík ferry terminal, take Ferry 56 to Syðradalur on Kalsoy Island. The ferry ride takes approximately 20 minutes. Check the ferry schedule in advance as departures are less frequent on certain days. A return ticket costs DKK 40 for adults. Bringing a car on the ferry costs DKK 160 for a car including the driver. It is highly recommended to book in advance.

  • Bus

    Upon arrival in Syðradalur, board Bus 506 towards Trøllanes. The bus ride takes about 30-35 minutes. A one-way ticket to Trøllanes costs approximately DKK 20, payable in cash or credit card. The bus schedule is coordinated with the ferry.

  • Walking

    From the bus stop in Trøllanes, follow the trail north towards the lighthouse. The hike is approximately 4.8 km (3 miles) roundtrip and takes about 2 hours. Be prepared for muddy conditions and some steep sections. As of 2024, there is a fee to hike to Kallur Lighthouse: 200 DKK for adults.
