Føroya Sjósavn, or the Faroese Aquarium, is a window into the underwater world of the Faroe Islands. Relics from a dam used to collect ice in winter can still be seen outside. The facility includes the old ice house, a concrete extension, and a wooden extension, with the ice house and concrete building serving as exhibition rooms.Føroya Sjósavn plays a vital role in educating children and adults about the marine environment. The aquarium has plans to expand into a state-of-the-art Arctic Oceanarium by 2028, which will include larger aquariums, a café, and educational spaces.
