Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the main town of Tvøroyri, which is centrally located in Suðuroy. From Tvøroyri, head northwest on Route 10 towards Hvalba. Continue along Route 10 for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road near the village of Hvalba. Take the left fork to stay on Route 10. Continue for another 6 kilometers until you reach the village of Sandvík. Once in Sandvík, follow the signs towards Ásmundarstakkur. The observation deck is approximately 3 kilometers from the village center. The final part of the road is unpaved but well-maintained. You can park your car in the designated parking area near the observation deck.

• Public Transport

  For those using public transportation, take the local bus from Tvøroyri to Hvalba. Buses run several times a day, and you can check the schedule at the local tourist information center or online. Once you reach Hvalba, you will need to walk approximately 6 kilometers to Sandvík along Route 10, which may take around 1.5 hours. From Sandvík, you can either walk towards Ásmundarstakkur or consider arranging a taxi for the remaining 3 kilometers to the observation deck.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Tvøroyri or Sandvík. This will save time and provide you with a comfortable ride to Ásmundarstakkur. The taxi fare may vary, but expect to pay around 100 DKK (Danish Krone) for a short trip from Sandvík to the observation deck. Ensure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
