Getting There

  • Car

    From Tórshavn, head northwest on Route 10. After approximately 45 minutes, take Route 59 towards Vestmanna. Continue on Route 59 for about 12 km, then follow the signs to Route 60 towards Tjørnuvík. After about 20 km on Route 60, you will arrive in Tjørnuvík. Follow signs to the beach; parking is available near the beach area. Note that sub-sea tunnels in the Faroe Islands require toll payment, which can be paid online. Check tunnil.fo for current prices. Payment must be made within three days.

  • Public Transport

    From Tórshavn, take Bus 400 to Oyrarbakki. From Oyrarbakki, transfer to Bus 201, which goes directly to Tjørnuvík. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. From the bus stop in Tjørnuvík, follow the signs to Tjørnuvík Beach, a short walk away. A multi-day travel card can be purchased for DKK 500 for four days of travel.
