Getting There

    From the center of Hvalvík, start by walking towards the main road, Route 59. Turn left onto Route 59 and continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the sign that indicates a left turn towards Kirkjubøur. Turn left and follow the path which will take you along a scenic route. After about 1 kilometer, you will see the village of Kirkjubøur in the distance. Continue walking straight until you reach the historical site of Kirkjubømúrurin, which is located just past the village center.

    Rent a bicycle in Hvalvík if available. Start by heading towards Route 59. Turn left onto Route 59 and ride for about 1.5 kilometers. Look for a sign indicating the left turn towards Kirkjubøur. Take the left turn and cycle for approximately 1 kilometer. You will pass through beautiful landscapes and eventually arrive in the village of Kirkjubøur. Continue cycling straight to reach Kirkjubømúrurin, which is located at the edge of the village.

    Check the local bus schedule for routes from Hvalvík to Kirkjubøur. Board the bus at the nearest bus stop in Hvalvík. The bus will take you along Route 59 towards Kirkjubøur.
