Kallur Lighthouse, built in 1927, stands on the northern tip of Kalsoy Island in the Faroe Islands, offering dramatic views of rugged cliffs and the vast Atlantic Ocean. The hike to the lighthouse provides an unforgettable experience, with panoramic vistas and a sense of serene isolation.

Ferry and Bus
From Tórshavn, take bus #400 to Klaksvík (1.5 hours). From the Klaksvík ferry terminal, take the Route 56 ferry to Syðradalur on Kalsoy Island (20 minutes, 40 DKK/~$6 USD for adults). Upon arrival, take bus #506 from Syðradalur to Trøllanes (20 DKK/~$3 USD), where the hike to the lighthouse begins. Ferry tickets can be pre-booked.
Driving
From Tórshavn, drive to Klaksvík (1 hour 15 minutes) and take the Route 56 ferry to Syðradalur on Kalsoy Island (20 minutes, 160 DKK/~$22 USD for car and driver, plus 40 DKK/~$6 USD per additional adult passenger). Drive from Syðradalur to Trøllanes (20 minutes). Parking is available in Trøllanes next to the public toilet. Be prepared for narrow, one-lane tunnels. Ferry tickets can be pre-booked.
Hiking
From the village of Trøllanes, walk up the road to the red gate, ensuring it's closed behind you. Follow the path to the right of the mountain, heading around it. Continue until you reach a clearing with views of Kallur Lighthouse. The hike to Kallur Lighthouse now has a fee of 200 DKK (about $25 USD) for adults, 100 DKK for children 13-17, and free for children 12 and under.
