Driving
The easiest way to reach Tjørnuvík is by car. From Tórshavn, the capital, it's approximately an hour's drive (65 km). Follow Route 10 north, then Route 594 directly to the village. Be aware that the road into Tjørnuvík is narrow and winding. Parking is available at the entrance to the village. During peak season, a free park and ride shuttle service operates from Haldórsvík. Campervans are not permitted in Tjørnuvík, park in Haldórsvík instead.

Public Transport
It is possible to reach Tjørnuvík by public transport. Take Bus 400 from Tórshavn to Oyrarbakki. From Oyrarbakki, transfer to Bus 201, which goes directly to Tjørnuvík. Check the bus timetable in advance as schedules are limited. A multi-day travel card can be purchased for DKK 500 for four days of travel. A single bus fare is approximately 20 DKK.

Walking
Once in Tjørnuvík, the village is best explored on foot. From the parking lot at the entrance, it's a short walk to the black sand beach and the village center. The Gonguturur hiking trail starts near the parking lot and offers great views of the village. Be aware that the path can be unmarked and tough, especially in wet or foggy weather.
