The easiest way to reach Tjørnuvík is by car. From Tórshavn, the capital, it's approximately a 50-minute drive. Follow Route 10 north, then continue onto Route 594. Be aware that the road to Tjørnuvík includes a narrow, winding mountain road. There is a parking lot available at the entrance to the village. Parking is free. Please note that traffic can be heavy during the summer.

It is possible to reach Tjørnuvík by public transport, though it requires planning. Take bus 400 from Tórshavn to Oyrarbakki. From Oyrarbakki, transfer to bus 201 to Tjørnuvík. Note that the frequency of bus 201 is low. A multi-day travel card can be purchased for DKK 500, allowing unlimited travel on buses and ferries (excluding Mykines). Single fares vary depending on the distance traveled, but expect to pay around DKK 50 for Tórshavn-Kollafjørður.
