Divers can witness blacktip reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks, grey reef sharks, silvertip sharks, tawny nurse sharks, sicklefin lemon sharks, bull sharks, and even the elusive tiger shark. Besides sharks, the lagoon boasts over 400 species of fish, giant groupers, Maori wrasse, eagle rays, and more.
