Spanning 28 hectares, the gardens are committed to protecting Fiji's endangered plant species, especially endemic trees. Savurua is actively working to enrich these areas with plantings of endangered endemic species and iconic native Fijian trees. While still a work in progress, the gardens aim to provide defined tracks and facilities for visitors to explore Fiji's unique flora, fauna, natural rainforests, and ethnobotanical culture. Birdwatchers will find Savurua a particularly rewarding destination, as it attracts a variety of endemic Fijian forest birds. Visitors should note that, until further development is completed, the gardens are best suited for experienced bushwalkers. Savurua Botanical Gardens plays a crucial role in conserving Fiji's natural heritage and promoting awareness of plant conservation.
