Amos Rex: Subterranean Art with a Playful Surface

Named after publisher and arts patron Amos Anderson, the museum is located in the heart of Helsinki, within the functionalist landmark of Lasipalatsi (Glass Palace). The museum's unique design features domed exhibition spaces built underground, which emerge as playful mounds on the Lasipalatsi square. Visitors can walk, climb, and even picnic on these domes, offering a unique interaction with the museum's architecture. Skylights within the domes introduce natural light into the galleries below. Amos Rex presents a dynamic program of contemporary art, media art, and experimental installations.
