    From Espoo city center, take bus 165 towards Kauklahti. Get off at the Vantinportti stop, which is a short walk from the garden. A single ticket within Espoo costs approximately €3.00.

    Walking

    From the Kauklahti train station, walk north along Vantinportti road for about 450 meters. The City Garden will be on your left. The walk is generally flat and takes about 5-10 minutes.

    Espoo City Garden, also known as the Espoo Kaupunginpuutarha, is a verdant retreat in the Vanttila district of Espoo. Established in 1989, this eight-hectare garden serves as a central procurement point for the city's Public Works Department and a space for recreation and education. The garden features a specimen garden with various tree species, from coniferous to fruit trees, with new species planted for experimental purposes. Lawns have been converted into meadows to support urban biodiversity and pollinators. Visitors can enjoy summer flower and herb beds, beehives from Jyrkänpesä bee farm, and a playground built in honor of the Green Year 2000. The playground includes wooden figures and a shelter made in the City of Espoo's wood workshop. The City Garden is always open to the public, providing picnic tables and benches for relaxation. It exemplifies Espoo's commitment to green spaces and community well-being.
